Final Fantasy IV - 10th Anniversary Edition is one of those RPGs that just sticks with you. You start as Cecil, a dark knight with some serious moral baggage, and right off the bat, the game throws you into this messy conflict where you’re questioning orders—and yourself. The story’s got weight to it, way more than I expected from a 16-bit game.
The battles are classic turn-based, but with this weird little twist where characters act based on speed, so you’ve gotta think ahead. And the music? Uematsu’s score is legendary for a reason—that Red Wings theme still pops into my head at random.
What surprised me most was how much personality the characters have, even with the SNES’s limitations. Kain’s brooding, Rydia’s growth from scared kid to powerhouse, even Edge’s ridiculous ninja antics—it all clicks. If you’ve never played it, this version’s a solid way to experience one of the best stories in the series.
