Final Fantasy III (or VI, depending on who you ask) on SNES is one of those RPGs that just sticks with you. You start off with this weird, almost steampunk vibe—magic’s been gone for ages, but now these Empire goons are messing with ancient tech, and suddenly your ragtag crew of rebels, thieves, and amnesiacs gets dragged into saving the world. Classic setup, but the way it unfolds? Still hits.
The job system’s great—no rigid classes, just equip Espers to learn spells while keeping your character’s natural strengths. Want a ninja who casts Ultima? Go for it. The sprite work is gorgeous, the villain actually has depth (Kefka’s unhinged in the best way), and that opera scene? Iconic. Also, the soundtrack slaps. You’ll hum Terra’s theme for weeks.
It’s got that perfect mix of strategy and chaos—sometimes you’re carefully planning turns, other times you’re just mashing Fight because your party’s overpowered. Either way, it’s a ride worth taking. Just don’t let Shadow leave the party unless you’re ready to cry.
