Doom on SNES is wild—it’s basically the same demon-slaying chaos as the PC original, just crammed into a 16-bit cartridge. You’re that lone marine blasting through Mars’ moon bases, then straight into Hell, which somehow looks even creepier with those chunky pixel textures. The controls take a second to get used to (no mouse aiming here), but once you adjust, it’s surprisingly smooth for a console port.
Don’t expect the same speed or detail as the PC version, but the atmosphere still holds up. That first time you hear the low-fi growl of an imp around the corner? Pure adrenaline. And yeah, the blood’s still red—just blockier. You’ll miss a few levels from the original, but what’s here is a solid, frantic scramble for survival. If you’ve got a SNES and a craving for retro FPS action, this one’s a blast.
