Disney's Treasure Planet on the GBA is one of those licensed platformers that actually nails the vibe of the movie. You play as Jim Hawkins, bouncing between floating platforms and blasting energy orbs at robot pirates—which sounds simple, but the controls have just enough weight to make jumps feel satisfying.
First thing you’ll notice? The art style somehow squeezes that gorgeous film aesthetic into tiny pixels. Solar sails glow, alien landscapes scroll by, and yeah, you even get to ride the surfboard-like solar surfer in some sections. It’s not mind-blowing, but for a GBA tie-in, it’s way more polished than it had any right to be.
Fair warning though—some later levels get brutal with bottomless pits. I may or may not have rage-quit a few times as a kid.
