Darius Force (or Super Nova if you're playing the US version) is one of those SNES shooters that doesn't get enough love. It's part of the Darius series, so you know the drill: fish-themed spaceships, branching paths, and those iconic massive screen-filling bosses. The Force version mixes things up with three different ships—each handles totally differently, and I kept switching between them because I couldn't decide which one felt right.
The levels have that classic Darius weirdness—one minute you're dodging lasers in space, next thing you know you're blasting through what looks like an alien coral reef. And yeah, the soundtrack slaps. That deep, bass-heavy synth kicks in the second you start playing and doesn't let up.
Fair warning though, it's tough as nails. You'll probably lose a few lives just figuring out the attack patterns on the first boss. But when you finally take one down and see that satisfying explosion? Worth it.
