Brother Bear on GBA is one of those licensed games that actually gets it right. You play as Kenai (and later Koda) in a mix of platforming and light puzzles, with some surprisingly decent sprite work for a Disney tie-in. The first level throws you right into the wilderness—jumping over logs, sneaking past bears, that kind of thing—and it nails the movie’s vibe without feeling like a cheap cash grab.
What I didn’t expect was how much the little mini-games break things up. One minute you’re fishing with Koda, the next you’re outrunning a stampede. It’s not super hard, but there’s enough variety to keep it from getting stale. And yeah, if you loved the movie, the story hits the same emotional beats—just don’t expect any big surprises.
Honestly, it’s a solid pick if you’re into early 2000s platformers with a bit of heart. The bear transformations are a nice touch.
