Brawl Brothers is one of those SNES beat 'em ups that somehow flew under the radar back in the day, but man, it's a blast with a friend. You pick from three weirdly specific fighters—a boxer, a wrestler, or a martial artist—and immediately start punching your way through streets full of goons who all look like rejected Mad Max extras. The sprites are chunky, the hits feel satisfyingly weighty, and there's something hilarious about suplexing someone into a trash can.

What makes it stand out? The tag-team mechanic. You can swap between two characters mid-fight, which sounds gimmicky until you realize how smoothly it works when you're getting swarmed. The wrestler's my go-to—nothing beats clotheslining three guys at once. Just don't expect deep lore here; the story's basically "bad guys exist, go punch them," but that's all you really need. The music’s got that grimy early '90s synth vibe that somehow makes every hit feel louder.

It’s not Streets of Rage, but it’s way better than it had any right to be. Perfect for when you want something chaotic but don’t feel like memorizing combos.
