Beyblade - Ikuze! Gekitou! Chou Jiryoku Battle! (j)(independent) Game
📅 2002 ✍️ Independent

Oh man, this takes me back. Beyblade on GBA was one of those weird licensed games that actually got the spinning-top battles right. You pick your blade (Driger was always my go-to), customize the parts, and then just let it rip in these little arena battles.
The controls are simple – mostly just timing your launch right – but there's some sneaky depth in how you build your Beyblade. Different weight distributions and attack types actually matter when you're clashing against the CPU. And yeah, it's in Japanese, but the menus are easy enough to figure out after a few tries.
It's not the prettiest GBA game, but the metal-on-metal sound effects when blades collide? Perfect. Still holds up if you're into that old-school arcade-style battling.
