Battle Unit Zeoth is one of those early Game Boy shooters that somehow makes a tiny black-and-green screen feel like an epic robot war. You pilot this hulking mech, blasting through waves of alien invaders—some of the enemy designs are surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy title, like these weird floating orb things that split into smaller orbs when you shoot them.
The controls are simple—dodge, shoot, repeat—but the challenge ramps up fast. I kept getting wrecked by the second boss until I realized you gotta aim for its core while dodging these annoying homing missiles. Classic "pattern memorization" stuff, but satisfying when you finally nail it.
It’s got that janky early portable shooter vibe where everything moves just a little too slow, but somehow that just makes it more charming. If you’re into retro mech action, this one’s a neat time capsule.
