About 4v4 Arashi Get The Goal (j)(quartex)
I picked up 4V4 Arashi Get The Goal on the Game Boy Advance, a Japan-only release from 2000. It was developed by Quartex, a name you might recognize from other handheld sports titles of that era. This was a time when developers were really starting to push what the GBA could do with fast-paced, competitive games.
You control a team of four players in a small, enclosed arena, and the goal is simply to get the ball into your opponent's net. The signature mechanics are the four-on-four structure, which makes the field feel crowded and chaotic, and the ability to perform quick passes and tackles. The pacing is relentless; you're constantly moving, stealing the ball, and taking shots. It feels like a frantic, condensed version of soccer where a single mistake can cost you the match.
