X2: Wolverine’s Revenge on GBA is exactly what you’d expect—claws, rage, and a whole lot of slashing. You start off in some grimy industrial complex (because of course you do), and within minutes, you’re shredding through goons like tissue paper. The controls are simple—hack, jump, occasionally sneak—but there’s something satisfying about how enemies just explode into health pickups when you gut them.
It’s not all mindless brawling, though. Some levels force you to actually think, like when you’re sneaking past guards or figuring out how to climb wreckage. And yeah, the story’s there—something about Weapon X and revenge—but let’s be real, you’re playing this to feel like a tiny, pixelated berserker. The sprite work’s surprisingly good for a GBA title, and Wolverine’s animations have this nice, weighty feel to them.
Just don’t expect deep combat—it’s mostly button-mashing with the occasional "oh right, I have a block button" moment. Still, if you ever wanted to pretend your GBA was a cigar-chomping Canadian murder machine, this’ll do the trick.
