World of Illusion on SNES is one of those Disney platformers that just oozes charm. You start off picking between Mickey or Donald—each has slightly different abilities, like Mickey’s cape letting him glide a bit farther, while Donald’s magic can clear obstacles in weird ways. The first level throws you into this storybook forest with floating platforms and enemies that look like they popped out of a cartoon.
What really sticks with me is the co-op. If you play with a friend, you’re constantly helping each other—like holding onto a rope together to cross gaps or stacking up to reach higher platforms. It’s simple but weirdly satisfying, and the whole game has this dreamy, slightly surreal vibe with levels that shift between toy boxes, giant libraries, and even a creepy-but-cute haunted house.
It’s not super hard, but there are little secrets tucked everywhere, like hidden warp zones or alternate paths. The music’s got that classic SNES Disney sound too—whimsical but with just enough bass to keep it from being too sugary. Definitely a cozy one to revisit.
