Ultra Baseball Jitsumei Ban is one of those SNES baseball games that actually feels like you're managing a team, not just smashing buttons. You pick from three leagues—each with six teams—and right away, you notice the stats matter way more than in other arcade-style baseball games. Pitchers have real stamina limits, batters actually whiff on bad swings, and the AI doesn’t just roll over.

First time I played, I went straight for the default team and got wrecked because I didn’t check their pitcher’s fatigue. Lesson learned. The fielding controls take a second to get used to (throwing feels a little stiff at first), but once it clicks, turning double plays is weirdly satisfying. If you’re into SNES-era sports sims, this one’s got way more depth than you’d expect.
