Tom & Jerry on SNES is one of those weird licensed games that actually gets the chaotic energy of the cartoon right. You play as Jerry (or Tom in 2-player mode), running through oversized house levels while dodging mousetraps, rolling pins, and of course, each other. The controls are a little slippery—Tom slides around like he's on buttered floors—but that kinda fits the slapstick vibe.
First level drops you right into a kitchen with floating sausages to grab and cabinets to climb. The music's got that bouncy 16-bit charm, and the sprites are surprisingly expressive when Tom gets smacked with a frying pan. It's not deep, but there's something satisfying about chucking plates at a dazed cat.
Japan got this version first, and it shows—the title screen's all in Japanese, but the gameplay's straightforward enough that you won't need translations. Just watch out for those sudden piano drops when Tom spots you.
