About The Fairly Oddparents - Enter The Cleft (u)(mode7)
I picked up The Fairly OddParents: Enter the Cleft back when it came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002. It was one of those licensed games from THQ that you'd see on the shelf, based on the popular cartoon. It fit right in with the platformers of that era, the kind you'd play on a road trip or after school.
You control Timmy Turner, and your main goal is to rescue your fairy godparents from the evil Denzel Crocker. The game plays out across side scrolling levels where you jump between platforms and bash enemies with a simple attack. You collect coins and search for special items to unlock new areas, which involves a fair amount of backtracking through earlier stages. The pacing is straightforward, though some jumps require precise timing. It feels like a solid, if uncomplicated, run and jump game from that time.
