Okay, so The Adventures of Dr. Franken is this weird little SNES platformer where you play as a mad scientist—except he’s more goofy than scary. Your job? Track down missing monster parts (arms, legs, that kind of thing) scattered across these gothic-but-cartoony levels. It’s like someone mashed up Frankenstein with a Saturday morning cartoon.
The first level throws you right into it—jumping over spike pits, dodging bats, and figuring out how to grab a floating eyeball without getting zapped by some trap. The controls are simple, but some of the platforming gets surprisingly tricky. And yeah, the music’s got that classic SNES charm—kinda bouncy, kinda spooky.
What I like is how each new body part you collect actually changes how you play. Find the monster’s arm? Now you can punch through certain walls. It’s not just collecting for the sake of it—you feel like you’re building something as you go. Definitely one of those "wait, how did I miss this back in the day?" games.
If you’re into retro stuff with a sense of humor, it’s worth dusting off the SNES for this one.
