About Tecmo Super Bowl (beta)
Tecmo released Tecmo Super Bowl for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, a 16-bit follow-up to their popular NES football game. It arrived early in the SNES lifecycle, a time when sports games were rapidly adopting the new console's capabilities for more detailed sprites and smoother scrolling fields.
You control a full football team, selecting plays from a menu and then executing them on the field. The main objective is to outscore your opponent by moving the ball downfield for touchdowns or field goals. Signature mechanics include the use of special, screen-filling super plays for big gains and the ability to dive for extra yards as a runner or to make a tackle on defense.
