Super Tom and Jerry is one of those weird, forgotten SNES games that somehow turns the classic cartoon rivalry into a side-scrolling beat 'em up. You play as Tom (or Jerry in 2-player mode), punching through waves of dogs, rats, and other enemies that look like they escaped from a Saturday morning cartoon. The sprites are huge and colorful, but the controls feel a little stiff—took me a few levels to stop accidentally throwing punches when I meant to jump.
What’s funny is how chaotic it gets. At one point, Jerry hops into a giant mech suit out of nowhere, and suddenly you’re wrecking everything in sight. The music’s got that bouncy 16-bit energy, though some tracks loop way too fast. Not the deepest game, but if you’re into weird licensed titles or just want to smash things as a cartoon cat, it’s a decent way to kill an afternoon.
