Super Tennis on SNES is one of those sports games that just feels right—simple controls but enough depth to keep you hooked. You start off picking from a handful of players (no real pros, just generic power hitters and baseline grinders), and the first serve you nail down the line just clicks.
The Circuit mode is where it shines. You bounce between eight tournaments, trying to rack up enough points to hit #1 by year’s end. Lose early in one? No sweat, but you’ll be scrambling to make up ground at the next stop. Matches get tense when you’re down a break in the third set and suddenly realize you’ve been white-knuckling the controller for 10 minutes.
It’s not flashy, but the ball physics and timing on volleys still hold up. Just don’t expect any wild power-ups or gimmicks—this is straight-up, old-school tennis at its purest.
