Super Stadium on the SNES (or Super Kyuukyoku Harikiri Stadium if you're going by its Japanese name) is basically baseball with a little extra chaos. It's the first in the series to hit the Super Famicom, and it plays like a faster, slightly exaggerated take on the sport—bigger hits, wilder pitches, and fielding that feels just unpredictable enough to keep you on your toes.

First thing you'll notice? The pitcher's wind-up animations have this weirdly satisfying snap to them, and batting feels way more responsive than you'd expect from a 16-bit game. I kept swinging too early at first, but once you get the timing down, sending one deep into the outfield is stupidly satisfying. The fielders move in these quick, jerky bursts, so even routine grounders can turn into a mess if you're not careful.

It's not the deepest baseball sim out there, but there's something about the way it leans into arcade-style energy that makes it stand out. If you're into retro sports games, this one's got a weird charm to it.
