Super Ninja-kun is one of those weird, charming SNES gems that never made it outside Japan. You play as this little ninja dude who flips between side-scrolling action and these odd top-down puzzle sections—like one minute you're slashing enemies with a sword, the next you're pushing blocks around like a weird ninja-themed Sokoban.
The controls take a second to get used to (why does jumping feel so floaty?), but once it clicks, there's something satisfying about bouncing between platforms and figuring out how to sneak past traps. Also, the music slaps—very 90s synth with these random traditional Japanese instruments mixed in. If you're into obscure retro stuff, it's worth a look just for the sheer novelty.
Just don't expect a deep story. You're a ninja. Things explode. That's pretty much it.
