Super Ninja-kun is one of those SNES games that feels like it got lost in the shuffle back in the day, but man, it’s a blast. You play as this little ninja dude who moves fast—like, borderline too fast at first—but once you get the hang of it, zipping through levels while slashing enemies with your sword just clicks.
The graphics are bright and cartoony, with these weird little enemy designs (some of them look like angry radishes?). The controls take a second to adjust to—your jump arcs are floaty, and wall-clinging feels a little sticky—but after a few deaths, you start pulling off these smooth ninja moves without thinking.
It’s not super deep, but there’s something satisfying about the way it plays. You’ll replay levels just to shave seconds off your time or find hidden power-ups. If you’re into old-school platformers with a ninja twist, this one’s worth dusting off.
