If you've ever played Super Metroid, this mini-hack version is like a concentrated shot of nostalgia—same eerie atmosphere, tight controls, and that satisfying "blip" sound when you grab a power-up, just crammed into a smaller package. You still start in that creepy abandoned space station, but the map's been trimmed down to just the good bits—no endless backtracking, just pure exploration and boss fights.
Weirdly, the shorter format makes it feel even more intense. You’ll blast through corridors, stumble into hidden missile upgrades (because of course you’ll shoot every suspicious wall), and fight some classic baddies before hitting a beefed-up version of an old favorite. The controls are still butter-smooth, though I swear the Space Jump timing feels slightly different—took me a few tries to stop faceplanting into spikes.
Perfect for when you want that Metroid fix but don’t have three hours to spare. Just don’t expect to walk away after "five minutes."
