Super Metroid - Boss Rush Mode is exactly what it sounds like: all the best boss fights from the original game, back-to-back, no breaks. No wandering through Zebes looking for missile upgrades—just you, your reflexes, and a gauntlet of some of the toughest baddies from the SNES era.
First time I tried it, I thought I’d breeze through Kraid since I’ve fought him a hundred times. Nope. Turns out when you’re low on energy and haven’t had time to stock up on power-ups, even the early bosses hit different. The mode throws you straight into the action—no warm-up, no mercy. And that fight with Ridley? Pure chaos, just like I remember.
If you’ve played Super Metroid before, this is the ultimate test of muscle memory. If you haven’t… well, good luck. Either way, it’s the most concentrated dose of Metroid adrenaline you’ll get without speedrunning the whole game.
