Yoshi’s Cookie on Game Boy is one of those deceptively simple puzzle games that hooks you fast. You’re sliding rows and columns of cookies around, trying to match them in lines—sounds easy, right? Then the speed picks up, and suddenly you’re frantically rearranging strawberry shortcakes and chocolate chips while the music gets weirdly intense.
The charm’s in the little things: Yoshi’s goofy grin when you clear a big combo, or how the cookie designs actually make you hungry after a while. It’s got that classic ‘90s Nintendo feel—bright, cheerful, but secretly brutal if you push into the later stages. I still remember getting stuck on the vertical-only levels where you can’t slide rows horizontally. Pure panic.
If you dig puzzle games with personality (or just love Yoshi being Yoshi), this one’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t play it before lunch.
