Super Mario Land 4 Game

Super Mario Land 4 on the Game Boy is one of those weird little gems that feels like a pocket-sized adventure. It’s not the usual Mushroom Kingdom—instead, you’re bouncing through Sarasaland, dodging weird enemies and collecting coins in these compact, slightly offbeat levels. The controls are tight, but the physics have that early Game Boy jank, which honestly adds to the charm.
You start off with the basics—jumping on Goombas, grabbing power-ups—but then it throws curveballs like the weird carrot power-up that lets you float. The music’s got that classic chiptune energy, too. It’s short, but there’s something satisfying about finishing it in one sitting.
If you’ve got a soft spot for handheld Mario oddities, this one’s worth a play.
