Welcome Nakayoshi Park (japan) Game

Welcome Nakayoshi Park is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this oddly charming mix of mini-games and Tamagotchi-style pet care. You start off in this tiny pixel park where you’re basically babysitting a bunch of animals, feeding them, playing fetch, and trying not to let them get too grumpy. The sprites are super cute, even by Game Boy standards.
There’s no real tutorial, so you’ll poke around at first figuring out which buttons do what (spoiler: it’s mostly the A button). The mini-games are simple—think stuff like timing jumps over hurdles or guiding a balloon—but they’ve got that old-school "just one more try" vibe. And yeah, the dialogue’s all in Japanese, but the icons make it playable even if you don’t understand a word. It’s the kind of game you’d zone out to on a bus ride in 1998.
Definitely more of a nostalgia trip than a deep experience, but there’s something weirdly relaxing about it.
