Mario's Picross Game

Mario's Picross on the Game Boy is one of those deceptively simple puzzle games that hooks you fast. You start with these grid puzzles where you fill in squares based on number clues—like a mix between Sudoku and Minesweeper, but with Mario cheering you on when you get it right. The first few puzzles ease you in, but before long, you're staring at a 15x15 grid, second-guessing every move.
What I love is how it makes you think in patterns, not just numbers. Mess up, and Mario gives you this disappointed look while the clock ticks down. The monochrome graphics somehow make it even more satisfying when you finally crack a tough one. It's the perfect game to zone out with, even if you occasionally rage-quit after misplacing a single block.
Still one of the best Picross versions out there, hands down.
