Super James Pond (Beta) is one of those weird, charming SNES relics that never quite made it to the final release. You play as this stretchy, fish-out-of-water secret agent—literally, he's a fish—bouncing around levels with this oddly satisfying elastic movement. The controls take a minute to get used to, but once you figure out how to slingshot yourself off walls, it’s strangely addictive.
The beta version feels rough around the edges (obviously), with some placeholder graphics and wonky hit detection, but there’s a goofy energy to it. One level has you dodging giant sushi rolls, which… yeah, that tracks. If you’re into obscure retro curiosities, this one’s a neat little time capsule.
You can play it on emulators these days, but fair warning: it’s definitely more of a "huh, so that’s what could’ve been" experience than a polished gem.
