Super Family Tennis is one of those SNES sports games that somehow nails the arcade-y feel of tennis without taking itself too seriously. You pick from a roster of characters—some with weirdly exaggerated animations—and just start whacking balls across the net. The controls are simple enough (A for normal shots, B for lobs), but timing matters way more than you'd think at first.
What I love is how fast-paced it feels compared to other tennis games from that era. The ball zips back and forth, and the AI actually puts up a decent fight even on normal difficulty. Doubles mode is where it really shines though—chaotic in the best way, especially when you’re scrambling to cover the court with a partner.
It’s got that classic Namco charm, with colorful courts and this weirdly catchy soundtrack that’ll get stuck in your head. Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into retro sports games.
