Super Dense World is one of those SNES platformers that nails the "easy to pick up, tough to master" vibe. You start off jumping between floating blocks, dodging these little spiked enemies that bounce around like they’ve had too much caffeine. The controls feel tight—no weird lag or slippery movement—which is good because some of the later levels get brutal.
The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, with these bright, chunky colors that pop even on a modern screen. And the music? It’s got that classic SNES synth sound, the kind that gets stuck in your head after a couple levels. I remember getting wrecked by the third world’s moving platforms at first, but once you get the timing down, it’s weirdly satisfying.
If you’re into retro platformers, this one’s a solid time capsule from the era where games didn’t hold your hand. Just don’t throw your controller when the lava levels show up.
