Super Demo World - The Legend Continues is one of those fan-made Mario hacks that actually gets it right. The first thing you'll notice is how it nails that classic SNES feel—the colors, the music, even the way Mario controls. But don't let the nostalgia fool you; some of these levels will wreck you in the best way possible.
You start off in a familiar grassy world, but by level 3, things get weird in the best possible way. One stage has you bouncing off bullet bills like some kind of platforming pinball, another turns the whole screen upside down mid-jump. I died way more than I'd like to admit figuring out the timing on that one.
What really sticks with me are the little details—hidden 1-ups tucked behind fake walls, secret paths that lead to entirely different routes. It's got that old-school "show your friends at recess" energy. If you grew up with a SNES plugged into your TV, this feels like discovering a lost Mario game from 1994.
Just bring your patience—some of those late-game jumps require pixel-perfect precision.
