Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 is the SNES game where baseball gets absolutely ridiculous—and that’s why it’s great. You start off with normal teams, but then you unlock the Ultra League, where every pitch and swing turns into some kind of anime super move. Fireballs, homers that split into three, pitches that curve like a boomerang—it’s like someone took a regular baseball game and fed it steroids.
At first, I thought the special moves were just gimmicks, but they actually add this weird layer of strategy. Do you burn your pitcher’s energy early for a flaming fastball, or save it for the late innings? And some of the animations are just hilarious—watching a batter swing so hard the bat shatters never gets old.
It’s still baseball at its core, just dialed up to 11. If you ever wanted to see what would happen if MLB players had superpowers, this is the closest you’ll get.
