Smash Tennis on SNES is one of those arcade-style sports games that just nails the fast, over-the-top action. You pick from a roster of exaggerated characters—some hit crazy power shots, others are lightning-fast—and then it's straight into quick matches where the ball moves way faster than real tennis. The courts have these weird bounces sometimes, and the crowd actually reacts when you pull off a killer shot.
What I love is how simple it is to pick up (just two buttons, really), but there's some sneaky depth if you start timing your slices and lobs right. The announcer yells stuff like "SMASH!" when you nail a winner, which never gets old. It's not a sim—more like if someone turned tennis into a fighting game.
Played it for hours as a kid, and it still holds up if you're into that early '90s arcade vibe.
