Okay, so Sailor Moon on SNES is basically a love letter to fans of the anime—but don’t expect some deep RPG or anything. It’s a straightforward side-scroller where you punch, kick, and throw your tiara at bad guys (which, honestly, never gets old). The sprites are super colorful, and the music nails that early ‘90s anime vibe.
You start off as Usagi in her school uniform, but one transformation sequence later, boom—you’re Sailor Moon, ready to wreck some monsters. The controls are simple, though some of the jumps feel a little floaty. And yeah, the difficulty spikes out of nowhere in later levels, but that’s part of the charm. If you grew up with the show, hearing Moon Tiara Action shouted in pixelated glory is pure nostalgia.
It’s short, it’s cheesy, and it’s definitely a product of its time—but that’s why it’s fun. Just don’t go in expecting a hidden gem.
