Return of the Jedi on SNES is one of those licensed games that actually gets the vibe right. You pick between Luke, Han, Leia, or Chewie—each handles totally differently, which is cool until you realize Chewbacca’s crossbow is weirdly slow compared to Han’s blaster. The levels jump between platforming, speeder bike chases (those controls take some getting used to), and even a Millennium Falcon turret section that feels ripped straight from the Death Star battle.
Jabba’s palace is the first real challenge—dodging guards and those annoying droids while working your way to the big slug himself. The lightsaber combat’s basic but satisfying when you finally land a clean hit. Some sections drag a bit, but switching characters between levels keeps it from getting stale. It’s not perfect, but for a 16-bit Star Wars game, it nails the chaos of the movie.
