Putty Squad on SNES is one of those weird, bouncy platformers that somehow sticks with you. You play as this stretchy blue blob—think if Play-Doh came to life—and you’re just sort of flopping around, absorbing enemies, and solving puzzles by morphing into weird shapes. The controls take a second to click, but once you get the hang of stretching into a balloon or flattening into a pancake to slip under spikes, it’s oddly satisfying.
The levels are packed with little secrets and goofy enemies (some of them look like sentient sausages?), and the whole thing has this bright, cartoony vibe that feels like a Saturday morning cartoon. It’s not super hard, but some of the later stages will make you stop and think before you just bounce headfirst into trouble. If you’ve played the original Putty games, this one polishes up the mechanics without losing that janky charm.
Honestly, it’s the kind of game where you’ll catch yourself grinning after pulling off some ridiculous stretchy maneuver to grab a power-up just out of reach. A weird little gem from the SNES era.
