PowerMonger on SNES is one of those weird, kinda clunky strategy games that somehow gets its hooks into you. You're dropped onto this medieval battlefield with little more than a handful of units and a fog of war hiding most of the map—no hand-holding here. At first, I just stumbled around, sending my guys into random fights and getting wrecked, but once you figure out how to scout properly and pick your battles, it clicks.
The board-game-like setup makes every move feel tense—do you push forward and risk losing your best troops, or play it safe and let the enemy build up? The battles themselves are simple, but positioning and timing matter way more than you'd think. And yeah, the graphics are rough by today's standards, but there's something satisfying about watching your little army slowly take over the map.
It's not for everyone, but if you like old-school strategy where every mistake hurts, this one's worth a look.
