Pokemon Weirdness Game

Pokémon Weirdness is one of those bizarre little ROM hacks that takes the original FireRed/LeafGreen formula and cranks the weirdness up to 11. You start off like normal—pick your starter, battle your rival—but then things get... off. The Pokémon sprites are glitchy in a deliberate way, some moves do completely random effects, and the dialogue takes sharp left turns into nonsense. It’s not just a reskin—someone put real effort into making this feel like a corrupted version of the game you remember.
First time I played, I picked the "starter" (a messed-up Pikachu with a missing ear sprite) and immediately ran into a wild encounter that was just a floating question mark. Battles are unpredictable—sometimes your attacks work, sometimes they crash the game, sometimes they turn the opponent into a different Pokémon mid-fight. It’s chaotic, but in a way that makes you laugh instead of ragequit.
Definitely not for competitive players, but if you’ve played the originals to death and want something that feels like a dream where Pokémon rules don’t apply, this is it. Just save often—glitches can be brutal.
