Pokémon Leaf Green is basically a polished-up version of the original Kanto adventure, but with smoother sprites and a few quality-of-life tweaks. You still start in Pallet Town, pick your first Pokémon (Bulbasaur’s my go-to for an easier early game), and get thrown into that classic grind of battling trainers and filling out the Pokédex.
The GBA graphics give everything a little more life—the colors pop, and the battles feel less pixelated than the old Game Boy days. There’s also the Sevii Islands post-game, which adds some extra exploration if you’re not ready to put it down after beating the Elite Four. Just don’t expect anything crazy like later gens; this is pure, nostalgic Pokémon with a fresh coat of paint.
