Pokémon Tiberium is one of those weird, off-the-wall ROM hacks that somehow just works. It’s still classic Pokémon at its core—you pick your starter, battle trainers, grind wild encounters—but everything’s been reskinned with this eerie, almost post-apocalyptic vibe. The sprites are darker, the music’s got this unsettling hum to it, and some of the Pokémon designs? Straight-up unsettling (in a good way).

First time I booted it up, I thought my GBA was glitching—nope, that’s just the vibe. You’ll run into familiar ‘mons with twisted new looks, and the gym leaders hit harder than you’d expect. Not gonna lie, I got wiped by the first one twice before I figured out a decent team setup. If you’re tired of vanilla Pokémon and want something with teeth, this one’s worth a playthrough.
