Panel de Pon is that classic SNES puzzle game where you're frantically swapping colored blocks to make matches before they stack up to the top. It's basically the granddaddy of all those match-3 games you've played—except way more frantic and way more Japanese (the original version has these adorable fairy characters instead of the Yoshi reskin they did for Tetris Attack).
At first it seems simple—just line up three of the same color—but then the blocks keep rising faster, and suddenly you're sweating trying to set up chain reactions before you get buried. The music gets more intense, your fingers start slipping, and before long you're yelling at the screen like it's a fighting game. It's one of those "just one more try" kind of games that'll wreck your sleep schedule.
If you've ever played Puzzle League or any of its clones, this is where it all started. Still holds up shockingly well.
