Okay, so Mickey No Tokyo Disneyland Daibouken is one of those weirdly charming SNES platformers that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s basically Mickey Mouse’s version of a theme park speedrun. You start off in front of Cinderella’s Castle (of course), and right away, you’re bouncing off teacups, dodging fireworks, and collecting little Mickey-head coins like they’re going out of style.
The controls are floaty in that classic 16-bit way—takes a minute to get used to, but once you do, it’s weirdly satisfying to just… boing around. Some levels feel like they threw every Disneyland landmark into a blender (why is there a pirate ship next to Space Mountain?), but that’s part of the fun. And yeah, the music’s exactly the kind of cheerful synth chaos you’d expect from a ‘90s Disney game.
It’s not super hard, but there’s this one part with spinning teacups that almost got me—took three tries before I stopped faceplanting into Goofy’s shadow enemies. If you’ve got a soft spot for weird retro platformers or just want to see Mickey backflip through a neon-lit parade float, this one’s a trip. Just don’t expect it to make much sense.
