Masters Of Combat Game

Masters of Combat is one of those old-school Sega Master System fighters that somehow feels both clunky and weirdly satisfying. You pick from a handful of martial artists—each with their own stiff but distinct moves—and then it’s just you, some questionable hit detection, and a lot of button mashing. The backgrounds are these pixelated dojos and cityscapes that scream late '80s, and the music? Pure cheesy synth beats.
At first, I kept losing because I treated it like Street Fighter, but nope—this is way more about timing those awkward jump kicks and hoping your special move actually lands. The AI loves to spam the same combos, so after a few rounds, you start seeing the patterns. It’s janky, sure, but there’s something weirdly charming about how hard it tries to be epic with so little to work with.
If you’re into retro fighters, this is a fun little time capsule—just don’t expect smooth combos or balance.
