F1 Game

F1 on the Sega Master System is one of those old-school racers that somehow nails the speed feel even with the system’s limitations. You’ve got a cockpit view that actually works—just you, the wheel, and a blur of track rushing at you. The handling’s surprisingly tight for an 8-bit game, though you’ll definitely spin out if you slam corners like it’s Out Run.
What’s cool is how they crammed in pit stops and tire wear, which adds this weirdly strategic layer between straight-up pedal-to-the-metal racing. The tracks are simplified versions of real F1 circuits, but Monaco’s hairpins still feel brutal when you’re trying not to scrape the barriers. Sound-wise? Expect a lot of that classic Master System buzz-saw engine noise—it grows on you.
Not gonna lie, it’s janky by modern standards, but there’s a charm to how hard it tries to simulate F1 with so little to work with. If you’ve got nostalgia for early racing sims, this one’s a time capsule worth dusting off.
