About Rastan
Rastan on the Sega Master System was published by Sega in 1988. It arrived when side scrolling action games were becoming a staple on home consoles, offering a translation of the arcade experience. You step into the worn leather boots of a barbarian warrior on a quest to slay a dragon.
You control Rastan directly, moving him left to right across rocky cliffs and through dank caverns. Your main goal is to survive the journey to the final dragon's lair, fighting through every enemy in your path. You swing a sword for close combat and can find temporary power ups like a morning star or an axe to throw. The game progresses screen by screen; you cannot backtrack once you move forward. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is steep, with precise jumps and quick enemy attacks demanding your full attention. It feels like a constant, grueling test of your reflexes and patience.
