Man, ISS Deluxe on SNES still holds up. The second you boot it up, you're hit with that chunky pixelated crowd roar and those smooth, slightly exaggerated player animations—strikers leaning way back for a power shot, keepers diving in slow motion. The controls are simple (pass, shoot, sprint) but there's a surprising amount of nuance if you mess with through balls or curved shots.
What I love is how chaotic it feels without being unfair. You'll have defenders accidentally bicycle-kicking the ball into their own net, or your striker tripping over the ball like a cartoon character. The commentary is hilariously repetitive ("What a save! What a save!") but weirdly endearing after a while. And the indoor soccer mode? Pure chaos with walls that keep the ball in play forever.
It's not FIFA-level realism, but that's the charm—it's fast, a little janky, and packed with personality. Still one of the best ways to kill an afternoon with a friend.
