Okay, so Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi on GBA is way more fun than I expected. You jump into these bright, cartoony levels as either Ami or Yumi—I always pick Yumi because she’s got this chaotic energy—and basically bounce around smashing stuff to the beat of their music. It’s not just a rhythm game, though; there’s platforming, weird little minigames, and some surprisingly tricky timing sections.
The soundtrack’s full of those hyper-catchy J-pop-rock tunes from the show, and the levels actually sync up with the music in a way that makes you wanna headbang while dodging obstacles. Graphics are pure early 2000s anime vibes, all flashy colors and exaggerated expressions. It’s short, sure, but perfect for quick bursts when you need something loud and cheerful. Definitely a hidden gem if you grew up with the show or just dig weird rhythm-platformer hybrids.
