So Firemen, The is this weird little SNES gem where you play as two firefighters trying to save people from a burning skyscraper. It's way more intense than it sounds—you're dodging collapsing ceilings, rescuing panicked civilians, and even fighting these ridiculous "boss fires" that act like video game monsters. The whole thing has this claustrophobic, almost horror vibe as you navigate smoke-filled hallways.
What's cool is the teamwork angle—you control both guys at once, switching between them to cover more ground. One wrong move and you'll watch your partner get roasted alive, which... yeah, that stuck with me. The pixel art for the flames is surprisingly gorgeous for a 16-bit game, and the way the fire spreads feels terrifyingly real. Just don't expect realism when you're fighting a sentient inferno shaped like a dragon.
It never got a US release, which is a shame—this is one of those Japan-only titles that deserved more love. If you can track down a copy, it's worth playing just for how bizarrely creative it gets with fire hazards.
