Dragon Ball Z - Super Butouden 2 is one of those SNES fighters that actually holds up surprisingly well. The sprites are way cleaner than the first game, and you can tell they put effort into making Goku’s Kamehameha look like it’s straight out of the anime. The roster’s got all the big names from the Cell Saga—Vegeta, Trunks, even Perfect Cell—plus some wildcards like Broly and Bojack if you’re into the movies.
What I like is how the controls feel less stiff than the original. Pulling off a Solar Flare into a combo actually works now, and the super moves don’t take forever to charge. Story mode’s pretty basic—just fight your way through the arc—but the versus mode is where it shines. Nothing beats trash-talking your friend after landing a last-second Genki Dama.
If you’re into 90s DBZ or just want a solid old-school fighter, this one’s worth a few rounds.
